I guess I can't go scrapbookin' with my friends now...

I just had the most delightful tearfilled laugh. I seriously scared Steve so much I thought he would pee his pants. He was in the front room with Sophia talking about going into the back to say hi to Mama so I decided to hide as a cheap thrill. Here's my hiding place:

Now just imagine me, the delicate little flower, crouched behind a child's table from Ikea. Do you think you might notice me? I think any of you would. Not Steven! When I sat up and yelled "Raar!" (like a dinosaur) he screamed "Jesus!!!" and twisted his whole body away from me. As I laughed at him he justified his actions, "You know I always believe that zombies have gotten in". Nice excuse, you big wuss.

Oh, and according to Steve, payback is a bitch.

New room, no dollars

We used to have a bookcase right outside Sophia's door. It was obnoxious and U. G. L. Y. I decided that it was springtime and therefore time for change. We cleared out the crapola that was not Sophia's and moved it into her room. This time there was no 2 year old outrage at the change we were bringing into her life. Instead we were left with a delightful nook for DB to love. We took a bench from her playroom as well to increase the nook-i-ness of it all. Sophia loved it from the start. She pulled books down and read on the bench, ripped out all of the blankets inside and made a complete mess that she ultimately had to clean up. Don't be distracted by the door behind the bench. That's the old door to the closet that now holds our washer and dryer. It's the sort of thing you live with when you have a hundred year old house and no money to overhaul the whole thing. Enjoy!

Hiiiieeee!!!

Sophia is wildly playing her ducky drums tonight. What are ducky drums you ask? Why it's a Dora the Explorer step stool that you smack with one bare hand and a rubber ducky in the other while singing Twinkle, Twinkle at the top of your lungs and then screaming Hiiiieeeee!!! Mommy!!!!!!

blah blah sick

I am watching Kitchen Nightmares while waiting to see if Motrin will take Sophia's temperature down. All I can think of is how we spent 6 weeks in Dec/Jan switching days between eachother on who was able to go to work that day. There is never any rest, I know that, but I am over this!

I'm just back from telling dear baby (DB) to be quiet and try to sleep. She has her monkey and sippy cup (normally not allowed) but she wants to stay awake. I could tell you more, but this has already been dull enough that you stopped reading.

The pee pee is in the potty

Yee-haw! Pee pee in the potty!

Potty training

Dear Sophers is wearing Big Girl Panties tonight. She is sitting on the potty now taking off her panties while explaing 'My panties! Take them off!' and then she pulls them back on. Steve is trying to convince her to 'go' and Sophia is desperate to play with her tub toys instead. I love that the only charm to the whole potty experience is that she can play with tub toys. Where's the excitement of being a Big Girl? Where's the desire to make her mama happy? I think she needs to reevaluate her priorities.

naptime

Naptime is never easy at my house. The only way to get Sophia to sleep is by driving around until she zonks out and then sitting in the car with her for 2-3 hours. I know you are all envying me now.
Essentially, this is what I am doing now. Thank god the wi-fi reaches the driveway. I am now caught up on Facebook, Twitter, this weeks Newsweek. I've also eaten 4 chicken nuggets, they were cold, not good.
My shopping trip to Costco was pretty good. I saw butt crack as soon as I pulled into the parking lot! Sadly, this moment was not captured on film because Tasha did not understand my incredible need to photograph and catalog such moments. The young gentleman realized that he was giving us a show before I could get a shot All was not lost, however. There was a woman inside wearing the best outfit ever. It may have been 44 degrees today but I would hardly think it was shorty short weather. This woman thought it was, but to look more appropriate she pulled on knee high boots, a hoodie and a long scarf. Tasha and I loved her and followed her around the store. I'd post a photo but my iPhone app won't allow it.
There you have it. My whole day. Oh, and I ran into Whit Hollis at Whole Foods. Such fun!
